Graham Murdoch obtained a degree in Product Design at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. He then attended the Glasgow College of Building and Printing to study Furniture Making, whilst working part time in a furniture making workshop. He set up business at ‘Real Wood Studios’ formerly ‘Woodschool’ in September 2004, where he has since produced a vast range of commissioned pieces from jewellery boxes to reception desks for both private and corporate clients as well as exhibiting new speculative furniture.

Graham only uses native hardwoods, predominantly elm, oak, ash and sycamore to create unique and contemporary furniture and will sometimes incorporate glass to complement the natural beauty of the wood. His designs consist of simple forms using clean lines and sweeping curves and often combine two contrasting timbers to produce pieces which will be a focal point in any room.
