“After the Storm” Exhibition – The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

[ezcol_2third]

Two makers at Real Wood Studios along with ten others from the Scottish Furniture Makers Association are taking part in a unique exhibition “After the Storm” at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.  Alasdair Wallace has designed and made two cyclone inspired tables from sycamore and oak (pictured) and Graham Murdoch has made a sideboard in oak with a regeneration themed inlay. The wood was salvaged from some of the trees which were blown down in the Botanic Garden, when Cyclone Andrea hit in January 2012.

The exhibition runs from 3rd December to 26th May 2017 in the John Hope Gateway.  There will also be a “Makers’ Market” event consisting of smaller items handcrafted from the same timber on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December.
