Clawed Coffee Table

Description

This very special burry Ash has a wonderful contrast between the dark olive heartwood and light, rippling sapwood. It is highly figured but I was able to match in two pieces to give the effect of a full width single board top. The design for the legs came after several drafts and discussion with the clients but we were all very pleased with the outcome. In keeping with the asymmetrical top, each leg was individually hand-carved and tapers down to the ground rather like claws.
