We process our own logs using our state of the art Trak-Met static electric sawmill. Our saw is fitted with the SW Setworks system which automatically sets the sawmill head in the correct position. Depth of cut can be set for the whole log or adjusted on a board by board basis. The log only needs to be measured once and then the system controls the depth of cut from there on – it even factors in the saw kerf.
To get the best out of the saw you need a skilled operator. Ben Young has over ten years experience with sawmills. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on to get the best quality cut and efficiently process each log to maximise it’s yield.

•The saw has a bed length of 6m and will handle a 1200mm diameter by 5m long log.
•The mill will cut up to 1150mm wide, allowing for single table top slabs to be produced.
•How much timber can be converted per hour? This depends on size of log, type of cut (beams, through and through, quarter sawn etc), labour to remove cut boards, forklift to move fresh logs, site access etc. Please contact Ben to discuss your requirements and he will be able to give you an estimate of time required.
